Basically 10000% sure if every opera lover on tumblr gave $10 (or more..I mean go for it) a month, as if they were subscribing to a magazine, we’d be able to have our tumblr opera house.
The opera house I know everyone thinks about, in hopes that someday it’ll exist.
•tumblr opera composers (hell yes)
•lgbtqia operas.
•operas people actually want to see.
•role sex exchange (eg. Chevalier de Grieux is a chick) (also Cenerentola is a dude).
•educational operas for children/teens.
•operas about current events (eg. Racism in “modern society”).
•hires opera singers with great potential but little or no experience. (finally)
•literally anything else we can come up with.
Oh, and if all the classical/band/symphony/etc. musicians, not just opera people on tumblr, were to do this as well, there would probably be enough for 3 fully staged productions per year. (There’s a LOT of classical musicians on tumblr, holy moly)
I mean, I’m not wrong. This would literally be everyone’s dream, right?
